RISE LSRI research group has joined LINXS!

LINXS is happy to announce that the RISE Large Scale Research Infrastructure (LSRI) research initiative has joined the institute’s membership programme through its team of technical experts located at or close to the new facilities in Lund

– While we have worked closely with LINXS before, we see the membership as an opportunity to strengthen our collaboration around engaging researchers from different parts of the country, says Tomas Lundqvist, Senior Area Coordinator at RISE LSRI, and former Science Director at MAX IV.

– Especially, competence building through education and training are important areas for us since we work towards opening up synchrotron and neutron techniques to industry and industry related research. Collaboration with LINXS enables us to reach out to academia as well as industry through strategic, and exciting scientific events and workshops. LINXS is also a platform to build important technical and scientific networks which can also help to attract new users to the facilities.

Tomas Lundqvist cites the Northern Lights on Food workshop in 2019, organised by RISE, LINXS and MAX IV, as a good example of a collaboration that brought together academia, industry researchers and the food sector. The aim was to identify common challenges and start new collaborations on how to develop and improve food and food processes.

– RISE LSRI is part of an institute wide effort, where we work with universities and industry in trying to create new bridges between society, academia and large-scale research facilities. Membership in LINXS supports our work to make large scale research infrastructures more relevant and accessible, he concludes.
