Lars E. Olsson, Professor, Faculty of Medicine, Lund University- is professor of medical physics and head of Medical Radiation Physics, Dept. Translational Medicine, Lund University. He has a long research experience of research related to imaging of in-vivo animals as well as clinical studies. The research includes imaging modalities as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computed tomography (CT) and recently Synchrotron CT. The research areas have been imaging of cartilage/OA, body composition (lipid imaging), cancer (radiotherapy) and above all respiratory imaging. For a period of almost 10 years, Olsson was working at AstraZeneca, Mölndal using imaging in drug development. At present he collaborates with researchers at ESRF, Grenoble on studies of fibrotic tissue in the lungs. He is also a member of the steering board of Lund University Bioimaging Centre.
