Prof. Frank Lipnizki was Vice-President of the European Membrane Society in 2019/2021 and is currently heading the Annex “Membranes in Biorefineries” by IETS – a collaboration program of the International Energy Agency (IEA). His main research focuses on the integration and optimisation of separation process in particular membrane processes in the food, biotech, pulp and paper industry as well as water and wastewater treatment plus fouling and cleaning of membranes.

Prof. Frank Lipnizki has authored over 50 publications in reviewed journal and books and gave more than 100 presentations at international conferences and workshops on membrane technology.

1995: BEng (Hons) in Manufacturing and Management at the University of Bath, U.K., 1996: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Process Engineering) at the University of Bochum, Germany 1999: PhD (Hydrophobic Pervaporation: Process Integration and Optimisation) in Chemical Engineering at the University of Bath, U.K., 2000: Post-doc Druvan Scholarship in Food Engineering at Lund University, Sweden. 2001 - 2016: Alfa Laval - Business Centre Membranes (previously Danish Separation Systems), Denmark, Business Manager and Product Manager plus associated R&D manager and 2014 - 2016 adjunct Professor in Chemical Engineering at Lund University, Sweden. Since, 1st of Jan 2017 Professor in Chemical Engineering with focus on Separation Process in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Lund University, Sweden. Furthermore, he heads the Membrane Group at Lund University and manages MemLab – the Industrial membrane process research and development centre – at Lund University.
